Following your advice and others, I called AJA and they termed the KonaSD card as "end of life", meaning they don't support the card anymore. In fact, they said, most products are "end of lifed" after about 3 years. In this case, "Black Magic is the only one that could answer this driver question," AJA said.

Thanks for your help, maybe another CC member will chime in, otherwise I may just dive in and upgrade, and see what happens.
