TC from VTR Exchange
by Matt Larson on Jun 24, 2009 at 4:19:11 pm

I had digitized some footage using VTR Exchange because I needed to pull the Timecode off the tape from the SDI feed. Everything worked fine, but when I play the captured media out of FCP through the Kona card, I can not get the Timecode to display on the monitor out.

I have the Control Panel set to "Use QT Timecode" and Timecode burn in is on. When I playback footage captured in FCP, I get the TC displayed out to a monitor. When I play back media captured in VTR Exchange, I get the TC window with dashes in place of numbers. When I open the media in QT Player, both media files seem to have the same "Timecode" track. Also, the VTR Exchange-captured footage will display Timecode out to a monitor if I use AJA TV rather than FCP.

Any idea how I can get the VTR Exchange footage to display timecode information correctly to a monitor using FCP?

Thanks-
