We have a horita box that "steals" the timecode from the RS422 connector and turns it into an LTC output that we send to the deck. We loop the RS422 from the Kona breakout box to the Horita then on to the deck.

Load a tape, crash record with external timecode set, hit play on the sequence and BAM everything goes down in sync. No pre-striping necessary.
