Weird problem with log and transfer

Hello Bob, Walter and all,
Been away shooting another feature doc and upon return to LA have begun to organize and import from the multitude of firewire drives we dumped to. We shot with the HVX 200 and 500, lots of P2 folders. On my main edit system, the MacPro with the Kona3 and all the bells and whistles, I cannot get the Log and Transfer tool to see the P2 media. It sees the folder name but no media. The same media is seen properly on my trusty G4 laptop. Worst case I will use the laptop to convert everything but what a waste of time. Anyone have any ideas. I've deleted prefs etc, re-installed FCP only (latest update non Leopard0.
Thanks for any input.
