Jason- I think your problem is in the Z-1 in/out menu. Plug the Z-1 component cable directly into an HD monitor and tweak the menu settings 'till you get a picture. Once the Z-1 is putting out component HD reconnect the cable to the LHe and select the proper settings. I know for SD component the iLink down-convert needs to be ON.
