Cinewave card problems in a G5

Hey everyone,

I have a question we've been trying to answer at work. We're running a couple of Mac towers in our editing suites, two G5's and one G4 (no Intels). The G4 has a 33 mhz Cinewave card, one of the G5's has a 66 mhz (modified) Cinewave, and the third G5 has a 33. The G5 with the 33 is experiencing import problems in FCP, where small sections of imported frames will freeze for a second and there will be a strange pull back effect in the image. Not really sure how else to explain it.

Has anyone heard of this happening? We're importing from DVCAM tapes in a Sony tape deck, through a B.O.B. into our tower. We've tried switching bobs, switching decks, switching cabling, and it keeps happening, albeit in different spots so we know it probably isn't our source tape. To make certain we tried the whole setup on our G4 and it worked fine with no problems.

My supervisor has a theory that it might have to do with the bus speed of the computer going faster than what the Cinewave can handle. Would this be likely? Should we instead try getting a 66 Cinewave in this G5, or is there another solution out there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have to get our show to air soon and there isn't much time.
