Cinéwave and After Effects 8 problem

Here there is a question for any of you Ciné survivors :). I am testing our Ciné working with the new Adobe After Effects 8 (CS3). I am finding a curious problem: if I render a comp that involves Ciné-encoded footage, and this render happens to be rather really fast (say, a simple title operation: decode frame, stamp title, encode frame, next!), it seems as if the Ciné card trips over itself several times, progress bar speed erratically slowing down to a crawl, and the resulting movie having some stuttered frames here and there.
I've tried this on AE 8.0 and 8.0.2. It gets fairly worse if I activate multiprocessing (interestingly enough, I saw something like this happen while testing the Nucleo multiprocessor rendering plugin on AE 7). For now my workaround is converting the involved Ciné footage to Apple Uncompressed for cases like the one mentioned.
If the rendering job is more arduous and per frame-slower, everything seems to go fairly OK. I am trying things on OS X 10.4.9 with Qucktime 7.3.1 and even 7.1.
I'd like to know if anybody has met this AE CS3 problem, or it is just me (which it very well could be).
Regards.
