Text Aspect Ratio Shifts Through Compressor
by

I often use the text tool in FCP for simple titles. I've noticed that if the sequence setting is anything other than square pixels, if I export the sequence through Compressor directly from FCP, then the aspect ratio of the text changes. If the source was 16x9, it gets stretched vertically taller and looks all funny. If the source is 4x3, it's not as bad, but it gets squished so it's shorter.
I'm usually rendering 16x9 footage out to a H.264 file at 640x360. My 4x3 footage is 720x480 and compressing to 640x480.
My work around is to render a self contained or reference movie out of FCP, then use Compressor to compress it.
I want to see if anyone else is having this problem before I submit it to Apple.
Thanks!
