Workflow Question
by

Hey all,
I've got a bit of a quick question for you... I recently shot a video for a band using a HVX100 at 25fps DVCPRO HD 1080p, with the idea in mind to edit at 720p allowing for digital zooming/cropping of certain shots...
I've captured all of the footage to my Mac (Dual 2.0Ghz G5, 4GB Ram, Final Cut 6.0.3) and have imported it into a new final cut document. I've set up a sequence at 720p but whenever I drag my files to the sequence they are always wanting to render (which is no good for precision cutting!)... Is there a way to have the 1080p files on a 720p timeline without creating an offline? (I ask as I want to be able to digitally zoom while I'm assembling the rough cut)
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks,
James
