[Samuel Frazier] "Would love to get a RAID 5 and priced an internal one out from Maxupgrades.com. It just seemed a bit silly to spend around $600 for an internal RAID (vs $200 for just a 1TB drive) when I'll probably upgrade my G5 in a year or so."
This is why you purchase an external array. I never use or recommend internal RAID setups. We only use external partially for this very reason. You can connect them to any machine. Our LaCie S2S arrays have been used on 4 different Macs over the past three years. So you invest in a good high quality array today and you can still use it next year when you upgrade.
I know there are a lot of folks on here who love internal arrays, but we don't use them.
