Capture Problems FCP
by Sri JIva Southall on May 13, 2008 at 2:51:11 am

Hi

I've been having intermittent capture problems for a while with FCP. I'm trying to capture HDV NTSC footage down converted through a Z1 but I keep coming up against a series of problems, sometimes I get the warning 'unable to initialize deck' then if I get a preview it stops capture with 'dropped frames warning, or says 'unable to capture no video present' the preview is disabled, but it says VTR ok, I can hear the audio and sometimes it will show video if I cahnge to 'non controllable device' I can also capture using imovie, so I dont think there is a problem with the FireWire. I cant get my head around the problem. I have trashed prefs and tried re-installing quicktime but nothing is working. Any suggestions would be amazing I'm very stuck with this problem and need to resolve it urgently.

Thanks in advance

Sri
