Mixing DV & HDV using Sheer Video
by

I am trying to use both DV SD footage as a wide-shot and the same footage imported as 1080i (from my FX-1) in a DV sequence so that I can 'zoom-in, and 'pan & scan' the same shots. This is as a labor-of-lovefor a theatrical school, shooting their performances with only one camera. I was hoping that using the Sheer Video codec might help in this regards, but I'm not sure how to set up the preferences in the project.
Has anyone tried and or succeeded in doing this, with the sheer codec or in another way? I'm able to cut this way ok in Premiere Pro on a PC, but I have to double capture and the HDV footage plays back slow. I'm much newer to FCP, hence my thread. Thanks ahead of time.
