Apple ProRes 422 file extension

I was doing some organizing of contents of my hard drives and realized that my ProRes clips do not have a file extensions, and it isn't hidden in the "get info" window either, is this a new practice from apple, just not assigning file extensions. A cataloging software I use doesn't want to recognize it and was wondering if anyone else had encountered this previously. I have added an screen shot to help explain.
