subclips not linking correctly
by Aaron Metchik on Apr 23, 2008 at 3:46:48 am

I have taken merged clips, created subclips from them, then created more subclips from those subclips (which according to the FCP manual should be totally fine and those subclips should behave as new master clips, from what I understand) and I've noticed something strange. When I lay one of these second generation subclips into my timeline, the audio and the video tracks are "linked" according to the checkmark next to "linked" under the modify menu, BUT, they do not act as linked clips at all. When I select a vid clip in the timeline, only the video is highlighted and vice versa with the audio. Has anyone run into an issue like this, or is there perhaps just some other kind of bug in this project that is most likely unrelated to my use of subclips?

Not a huge urgent deal, just curious if anyone has any insight on this.

thanks,

Aaron
