Brian was there with a notepad, writing down what people want to see. I asked him if he could put another hash mark next to the "Blue-ray support" item that I was certain was already there. His response indicated that I was maybe the second person to mention this. WTF? Worse, he didn't seem to personally understand it's importance. Given the high opinion of Brian that we all have, I was a bit shocked by this.

Fortunately, Steve martin closed his presentation by asking us all to demonstrate (with applause) our interest in Blue-ray NOW, and the resulting thunder was loud enough to bring down the chandeliers! There is no way that the FCP team can deny this now.

I also mentioned to Brian "better media management". he asked what I would like to see. I said "what AVID has", but for now I'd settle for a "consolidation that works better" and isn't such a nailbiter when using it.

I agree... I'd really like to know just how many engineers are really still in the Pro Apps division. Given how slowly things are being fixed, I really can't see it being that many people anymore...
