I've been using 500GB WD drives in an 8 drive RAID for about a year. 1 drive died last month. All I had to do was plug the serial # of the dead drive & my return shipping info into the support page on their website, print out an RMA shipping label, pack up the drive & mail it in. The replacement showed up something like a week later. You can do the same over the phone. With warrantee service like that, I wouldn't think twice about buying another WD drive.
