No Deck Communication
by Hampster on Oct 9, 2007 at 6:43:03 pm

I am trying to get signal to an external monitor (Sony Broadcast monitor)through a Panasonic AGDV2500 deck via the y/c in on the monitor and y/c or s-video out of the deck. The deck is hooked up via FireWire to my G4 running FCP 5.1.4 . It seems that this is a settings issue in FCP. I can get signal from the deck to the monitor playing a tape. I can also get signal when I do "Print To Video" in FCP. However I can't get signal when I scrubbing in a time line or playing clips the browser window. I have the Audio Video Settings set to "FireWire NTSC" in the Device Control drop down and I have Video playback also set to "Apple FireWire NTSC. I have closed out of FCP turned off the deck with no luck. Since it works when I hit "Print To Video" seems like some setting is wrong. There is just not constant flow of signal through the deck from FCP. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Andrew
