firewire capture problems
by willisub on Oct 7, 2007 at 12:06:52 am

Mac Pro quad 2.66. FCP 6

On occasion, we get "Searching For Media". errors from Canon camcorder in FCP when capturing via firewire. It generally it never happens after 1st turning on the camera but can happen after stopping and starting recording or sometimes if there is a 20-40 minute time between captures with camera still on. Capturing 20 - 90 minute programs. Camera viewfinder will show image, so camera isn't sleeping, but FCP is showing searching for media.

Having a tape in machine doesn't seem to effect anything except than when you open tape mechanism and close it, you never get the "Searching For Media". Error.

We get this off two different cameras.

Thanks in advance
