archiving on hard drive
by Mark Arenz on Jul 27, 2007 at 7:44:37 pm

I've resisted the idea for a long time since it just seems less safe than backing up to tape, but with all the price and speed advantages I'm seriously considering it. Now, are there any recommendations on how to store the drives- positioning, etc.? I'm planning on keeping the plastic shells they come packaged in so I can put them back in there for placement in the library, but should they go on their side or on their back?
