Thanks but unfortunately I think it goes deeper than the preferences. I have three different machines that all have the same problem. I'm using G5 tower, an iMac 20" intel, and a 17" macbook pro. They all have the problem on different projects. I'm just surprised that I haven't heard of more people having the same problem.

Thanks for your suggestions though.
