Help!!! Device control problem!!!
by Rodrigo Savastano on Sep 29, 2005 at 10:07:06 pm

Hello everybody,

I'd like to know if someone already had this problem:

I'm working on a G5 dual 2.0, with FCP 5.0.2 and OS X.4.2, and since I turned it on today, I don't get to make a conection between the deck and the final cut. I tried changing decks, changed the firewire cable, changed the G5 output, I re-installed Final Cut,... and the program always says "the video device is missing".

In the "audio/video settings", the option 720 x 480 NTSC doens't appear for me to choose in the "video playback", even with the deck turned on and plugged into the computer.

In the "log and capture" window it says that the VTR is OK, I get to command the deck, pressing "play", "pause", "ff" and "rew", the timecode of the tape appears and plays in the window, but the image doesn't appear, nor the audio in the "VU".

I would like to know if someone already had this problem, if it was discussed here, and how it was solved.

Very thankfull for all, Rodrigo Savastano
