Field problems in FCP5

Everytime I use text or graphics in layers in FCP5, especially shadows, my fields become misaligned, causing major flickering.
I have to do all my titling in LIVE Type which I don't want to have to do for every little title. I use PAL. Is this a major
bug or something? Has any one else experienced it?
