Photoshop files - max 12 seconds
by Darrin J on May 24, 2005 at 7:53:43 pm

Hi,

I'm using FCP HD (PAL) on 10.3.9 (latest everything apple) on a PB 17" 1.67 with 512 ram.

I'm importing Photoshop CS files, saved as .psd's. They only have one layer, but a transparent background which is importnet (for use with Nattress G-Lines) so the image is not flattened. They are small sized images of 720 x 578.

When I import them in FCP and into the timeline, they will only display for 12 seconds, even though the clip will then will take up more space in the timeline if I say to (set duration etc) . I have changed the default setting for images to 35 seconds, started a new sequence, restarted fcp and tested things work ok with a .jpge of the same image.

Is anybody able to shed some light on this? How do I get a .psd to expand to the duration I require?

Cheers, Darrin
