Dennis OSheaconvert H264.mov file to H264 file

Hi all...
I have a media player that will play H264 but wont play a Quicktime H264.mov file. Is there any way to strip the QT.mov container form the file? Are there any non QT H264 3rd party codecs that will work in Compressor. Is there any place I can go to get hit in the head with a bolt of technical lightning?
