Yes. YOu need to convert the MP3 to AIFF...and to 48kHz. FCP doesn't like MP3's pretty much at all. And really, 44.1 is for CDs...not video production. YOU need to convert the files to 48k.

48kHz 16-bit stereo aiff files. Compressor has presets for this.
