Good point, Nick. I suppose it's really only broadcast that will want the 25fps.

But there's that difference in the number of lines. PAL's larger. 'nother 100 scan lines in fact. So for the best you'd want to take HD to PAL directly for PAL consumption I'd put out.. eh? PAL is better color than NTSC too; hands down better. So makes sense to me to make the PAL streams from the HD. HD sizes are the same thank heavens between PAL countries and NTSC countries.

Hollywood movies are shot 24fps and they translate beautifully to PAL frame rates and countries. The US's number one export in dollars is entertainment. Don't the major's always release in a 25 or 50fps master in the EU? They should if they don't I'd think. especially if going to SD DVD's.
