FCP & EOS 60D - Question

So I just finished editing a short film that I shot on the Canon EOS 60d. I exported it and it looks pretty bad - not as good as the original source clips. Then I found out about the whole Apple ProRes conversion deal so I've decided to convert all the clips to that format. My question is - can I just reconnect the clips in the timeline to the newly converted clips? The editing is completely done, so I can't start over with cutting these new clips. Please help. Thanks!
