Jan: for the cost I'd rather buy a LaCie 2big Quadra: they call mixed mode something that creates a fast array and a protected one out of the 2 drives it holds. A 2TB version should be more or less the same cost as 2 OWC mercury but you get better speed and higher data protection so...
