If you have a firewire device, like a dsr-20 or DV camera, then you can use that for your video out and the video out will be letterboxed. There are some caveats, the RT is lessened, and even at a full render I think it's a little sampled but I might be remembering wrong. BUT, it should be the right NTSC color for color correction and such. Just getting down converted to DV. I did this for awhile when started working with HD, but everything was going out SD to DVDs or even to DVCam tape.

Your HD AE work can also be mirrored and monitored this way.
