[Barry Bishop]
"purchased a Drobo pro and am gonna TRY iSCSI (using the Ethernet)"
Drobos are built for data redundancy not for speed.
[Barry Bishop]
"What is the best codec for me to encode in, if I cant record uncompressed"
Capture Pro Res.
[Barry Bishop]
"What is the best Firewire 800 drive that's Fast and Affordable"
They are all extremely similar so its not going to make a huge difference on choosing one over another. However that said I would make sure it is at least a 2 drive raid. I myself have been looked at the CalDigit VR mini for a nice portable drive.
There are no "technical solutions" to your "artistic problems".
Don't let technology get in the way of your creativity!
