The only thing the EDL will be able to do is capture the footage used in the cut. All the rest of the footage, and the bin structure...it won't be able to do a thing about. And if you had anything like special transitions or plugins that are beyond dissolves or fades, then those won't transfer. Music...since that lacks any REEL information, and is only imported...that cannot be conformed to the cut, AFAIK.

Import the EDL into FCP and then recapture the cut. That at least is a start.
