You might try looking around for a used 2.5ghz MBP from the last generation. They were the last ones that had an express card slot and they come equipped with the good graphics card too.
The new iMacs are pretty cool, but you're stuck with firewire 800 and you'll need an MXO or other similar device for displaying to a video monitor.
