FCP Media Management
by Robert Goodrich on Oct 23, 2009 at 4:04:03 pm

I am comfortable archiving completed projects using Media Manager.

But I am seeking advice about managing clips in active project files.

A portion of what I do is shooting entire theatrical productions on my HMC150, and then taking small segments of that footage and doing a 3 minute promo.

I would like to offline all footage not used in the timeline. The reason being, after the footage is transfered into ProRes442 it takes up almost 100GB. But I only end up using a few minutes of the footage. I just want to be able to keep the footage used in the timeline (with a sensible amount of handle).

Thank you for your assistance.
