Here's ANOTHER new MAJOR bug in FCP7...

"Share" - a new feature and full of bugs
I have 26 half hour episodes of a tv series all shot HDV and in 26 individual projects in their original component forms. They have now been mastered to HDCAM and sent off to the distributor.
I need to create Blu-ray's and DVD's of the series, 4 episodes per disk.
So I just want 'Share' to create the files and then I will move them over to a PC authoring station to create the Blu-ray and DVD's using Adobe Encore.
The problem...
Using FCP 7's new 'Share', 17 out of the 26 eps went to H264 just fine, 9 failed with 'share error'.
All 26 of these projects were loaded individually and 'share' invoked each time individually - ie no batch processing.
0 (ZERO) out of the 26 eps successfully went to DVD; yep NONE. Every ep came up with 'share error'.
I was not using any created clusters; I tried that and it failed on every episode, blu-ray AND DVD. I was not changing any parameters, just using the default setting.
The solution...
Blu-ray H264 creation -
After I got the 'share error' I closed the project and restarted the Mac. Reopened the project and started the 'share' procedure again. It went thru OK the second time without changing anything as did the next ep but failed on the 3rd ep which restarted the whole shutdown/restart process again. So what does this mean?... A MAJOR MEMORY LEAK - seems Apple are picking up bad habits from Misco$oft.
The solution...
DVD creation -
Moved the H264 files into my PC authoring station and got it to do the conversion in Adobe Encore which were also used to do the Blu-ray disks.
The MAC system...
MacPro 8 core 8 gig RAM 8 terra raid Leopard and other software (latest) and Blackmagic Multibridge Extreme.
I get paid to do beta testing by some large software/hardware companies and if I am going to be beta testing these new FCP 7 features I think I should be paid for that work as well.
Anyone else want to share their 'Share' experiences?
Baz
What would I do without the 'UNDO' button!!!!
