apple intermediate codec files not recognized in fcp

dear friends, I've a problem....

Yesterday I captured one HDV tape in apple intermediate codec format...

1-I cannot see preview in finder
2- cannot import in a final cut project...appears the following messasge:

file error: 1 file(s) recognized, 0 access denied, 1 unknown

the files are assigned to be opened with text edit and from file infos I cannot change the application

maybe something happened after fcp upgrade to 7 ?

suggestions...?

MAC INTEL dual quadcore 3ghz
8gb ram
macos 10.5.8
fcp 7
