PSD into FCP does anyone use this for layering graphics?

Hey Guys,

I'm working with several PSD's and trying to "animate" graphics basically building graphic pages. It's not working very well and I was wondering if anyone was using PSD import into final cut as a regular workflow and moving around layers.

I've read the manual and looked around on Lynda and still haven't found any useful information on how to do this easily.
