[peter dunphy] "I woke up this morning to find the drive was 'Ok' again!!!

Have immediately started rebuilding the Raid 5 with that drive. "

Peter,

Were I you, I would not waste any time rebuilding the raid with a drive that is intermittent. Even if a hard drive works 98% of the time it's broken and should be considered toast.

As far as Seagate sending you a refurb. I really find that unacceptable, and personally I would have raised a stink until someone in management saw the light and saw fit to reverse that policy for me. BTW, did you attempt to send the drive back to the outfit who sold it to you before contacting Seagate?

BTW, I suspect you're beginning to see why many of us recommend turn key raids and manufacturers such as CalDigit etc., who stand behind their systems 100%.

David
