OT: Alternative to Photoshop

This is a bit off topic, but I was wondering if anyone here uses an alternative to Photoshop in conjunction with their Final Cut work?
I got CS3 when a got my system because it was the standard external still images editor when talking about editing with FCP. Typically, I use it for cutting product shot up for use in Motion, creating reflections, or "cleaning" an image up with the stamp and band aid tools. And of course using simple filters like NTSC colors, and blurs when needed.
I was thinking of looking into getting something like Pixelmator, but I was wondering if anyone here has used something other than Photoshop for their FCP editing needs.
