files not optimized for FCP message / start of media clip gone

Hello,
I'm exporting approx a 53 min edit from FCP 6.0.6 as a Pro Res HQ 1920x1080 60i and Pro Res 422 1920 x 1080 60i file when I import either one of these clips into FCP I get the warning "the following media files are not optimized for Final Cut Pro."
I'm on a MacPro 3.2 quad core
16gb RAM
exporting out to a CalDigit VR 3TB Raid set at Raid 0 (I have the footage backed up on another drive)
The Caldigit is connected to the MacPro via FW800.
Is the FW800 connection to slow of a connection?
Another issue that I'm having with the same clip is that when I export both Pro Res Versions, HQ and 422, the first :20sec of the clip there is no video just audio. I have tried exporting from the initial edit sequence and also nesting the sequence and I get the same results.
Thanks.
