Michael,

You can use my TCR Plus (plugin/app)

This requires two steps. Use the video filter (which behaves more or less like the TC reader which comes with FCP) to do your setup - you only need to do this for one clip. Then export as XML and process the XML with the little TCR Plus application. Re-import the XML and you're done.
