Editing DVCPRO HD 1080 25P in FCP6
by Andrew Smith on Jun 23, 2009 at 11:25:30 am

Hi All,

We have recently shot a music video with a Panasonic HDX900e using DVCPRO HD camera set to full 1080 25p.

We are now at the stage of digitizing into FCP 6, we have found no easy pre-set for DVCPRO HD 1080 25p only for 720 25p.

After looking around some people have said use the DVCPRO HD 50i preset but change the filed dominance to none, then FCP will see the progressive image and the full HD at 25 and let you edit.

Can any one confirm this workflow for me? Has any one else used this workflow in FCP 6 and if so what are the best settings to capture the footage onto the system, this is an online edit so no compression. i have also read a couple of people talking about possible pro res settings?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks all

Andy
