[Baz Leffler] "Well maybe, just maybe these folk DO know whats going on"

I WISH!

Nah, I find that spreading rumors is counter productive. Gets people all wildly speculating and then HUGELY disappointed when said feature(s) don't materialize. "Final Cut EXTREME!" Uhm...no. Or someone will cry out "I thought they PROMISED native support for H.264 from my Canon Mk5! It isn't there. DARN APPLE!" and there was no planned support from the start. It was some guy who said "Hey, I heard that there will be native support for H.264 in the next version."

All it does is make people angry when said features aren't there...and less enthusiastic about the features that ARE included. "Oh, yeah, sure, there is XXXX feature, but I heard that we were going to have YYYY feature. This is a BOGUS release."
