Downconvert HD to SD via one FCP to another?
by Llewelyn Roderick on Mar 23, 2009 at 8:57:12 pm

Dear Cows

Has anybody tried anything like this?
I have a FCP system with BM Decklink HD Pro (Edit1) and I don't have an SP Deck that I could use to take advantage of the BM's hardward HD to SD conversion capability.

Here's what I'd like to do. Buy a SD/SDI BM I/O card for my second mac pro and use this second machine (edit2) to record the downconverted HD->SD signal that's coming out of Edit1.

So the bottom line... is there any reason why one FCP (with SDI I/O card) can't record the SDI output from another FCP ???

looking forward to the answers on this one!
cheers
Llewelyn
