Compatibility of projects on Macbook Pro & PowerPC G5

Hi
I have a 3 year old PowerPC G5 I edit on using FCS2 running Tiger 10.4.11.
I'm thinking of buying a new or refurbished Macbook Pro to use in addition to my G5. The laptop would run the latest version of Leopard. I'd use an external drive for my project files which I'd like to be able to swap between both machines.
Would there be compatibility issues editing the same project on the two different platforms?
