Thank you Gary for this one!

Ive always thought that firewire was a "pure" copy - of whats on your tape.

with SD Iv tried the solutions: dvcpro50 captured firewire, and SDI to uncompressed 10bit. And Ive used the SDI workflow for a long time. pleased to see that I was "right".

When it comes to my HD project the solution has been a plunge:
my boss has now payed for:
New mac pro 2x 3,2 quad
nvida 8800GT512
8gb ram
3x1tb seagateserver grade es2 sata 32mb 8,5ms
aja Kona Lhe hd/sd card
and I have an HD monitor - however it was no good until i have the hd card.

Thank you guys for all your help and opinions!
