Audio off on HVD capture
by Chuck Obernesser on Feb 7, 2009 at 8:10:38 pm

HELLO TO ALL...
SORRY FOR THE CAPS IN THE MIDDLE OF A RENDER. QUICK QUESTION; I HAVE A SONY HDR-FX1. CLIENT WANTS TO SHOOT 1080i FOR AN INTRO TO HIS WEBSITE W/ GREEN SCREEN EX. WWW.LIVEONPAGE.COM I TALKED WITH THE PEOPLE THERE AND THEY SAID USE THE 1080I FORMAT AND SAVE IT TO A HARD DRIVE/ SOLD STATE DRIVE. WELL THE SONY DOESN'T DO THAT AND I ASKED IF IT WOULD BE THE SAME IF I DID A CAPTURE NOW ON MY IMAC AND SAVED THE FILE THAT WAY. THEY CLAIM TAPE COMPRESSES THE VIDEO TOO MUCH. SO I DID A TEST RUN AND RECORDED MYSELF AND THE PICTURE CAME OUT FINE AND KEYS WELL. BUT THE AUDIO IS OFF BY ABOUT 3-4 SEC. I AM USING FCP 5.4 AND AFTER THE CAPTURE THE CLIP WON'T PLAY BACK, GET AN ERROR MESSAGE. ANY IDEA'S ON HOW TO GET THE AUDIO RIGHT THE FIRST TIME?

CHUCK
