Advise: Output(playback) Monitor
by Will Keir on Jan 16, 2009 at 3:26:01 am

Hey guys, thanks for taking a second to read my post.

So there are a lot of options for play back monitors for my final cut system using the MacBook Pro but what are some of the better options out there for me? I want something flat, 30"+ to mount to the wall but what will give an accurate representation of how my film will look on the big screen or peoples home TV's?

Do I want plasma, LCD, should I look for a TV or a specifically designed computer monitor. What minimum contrast ration should I look for? Resolution, MS rate, output/inputs? Anything else?

The apple display is nice for color but a high 16ms refresh seems like it wouldn't give me true motion, especially for quicker shots and cuts.

Any advice on specific models to check out and minimum requirements to look for would be great.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Will Keir
