Looking ahead, seeing as you've shot everything 16:9, I'd be inclined to edit and master in 16:9. Then make a 16:9 Letterbox alternative master, to suit the purpose you described. If, however, at some point in the future, you want to repurpose your program in the more-modern 16:9 format, or use part of this master in another program, the full 16:9 will save a lot of headaches, time & money.
And easy to do at this time.
