Quicktime Plugin for 10 bit (4:2:2) Uncompressed
by

I am trying to play a QuickTime Movie .mov file.
Dimensions: 720 x 486
Codecs: Uncompressed 10-bit NTSC 48khz
When I open the file in Quicktime on my MacBook the window opens and shows a black frame. I am able to play the clip, the playhead moves but there is only sound, no image, only a black frame. A warning notice came up along with the black frame window, it said:
"Additional software is required for QuickTime to play this media. It may be available from the QuickTime Components page."
And then it directed me to the Quicktime plugin page.
I have no idea what plugin I am looking for. Has anyone experienced this problem?
The (non-playing) media files were output from Final Cut Pro 5. The original files were DV/DVCPRO 720x480 at 24fps. They were output Uncompressed 10 bit NTSC 720x486 at 29.97fps.
Could the dimension change, or frame rate change have some thing to do with it? Or could it be my MacBook can't handle Uncompressed 10 bit files? (I swear I've opened and played Uncompressed 10 bit files on worse computers.)
Any helpful thoughts are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Michael
