I've never seen a four-pin FW400 to FW800 cable. Maybe there is such an animal. Hate have change-over connector cables hanging off a machine. Too much can go wrong.

The problem isn't the brightness of the screen, it's its reflectivity, which is ridiculously high. Basically you're watching yourself composited on the image in the screen, and any other highlights in the room are hot spot blobs on your image.

Yes, you have two options to run graphics on the new MBP. The new graphics chip is not much better than the old one and sucks 25% more power when you turn it on. Oh, and you have to log out to switch between graphics options. The top end speed bump also cuts the battery life and really isn't much of a kick up from the current 2.4 model.

Also hate the black keyboard, really hard to work with in dimly lit areas when the backlight isn't coming on. Curious how well the backlit keyboard works with black keys too.

All the best,

Tom
